Oregon bound...

In exactly 60 days from today I will be in Portland, Oregon fulfilling my duties as a bridesman for the wedding of my most favorite person in the world! We have been friends for a long, long time and had some really good times and a few bad ones, but we are the best of friends...seriously.
I am looking forward to April 26th in particular as it will be an opportunity to stand by my good friend once again...we have always been there for each other and I know we will continue to be there for each other for years to come. I am so happy for her and her husband to be, and most of all I am soooo happy they have provided me with a valid excuse to get out of work and go back to THE very BEST State in the Union!
Oregon here I come...

Happy Birthday Portia!!

My puppy Portia turns one year old today! Unfortunately I do not get to see her today as we are about 2500 miles apart. Lucky for her she has a real nice Auntie who is taking care of her and as you can see from the photo above is being supplied with a wonderful birthday treat. I do miss having Portia around and I am very much looking forward to the day when she gets to come out to Virginia to be with me. It would seem that day is fast approaching for as of last night I signed a lease on a condo about a mile and a half from work. I will still be living out of a suitcase and a sleeping bag for a while, but hopefully before too long I will be able to have my storage unit shipped or hauled out to me. I am very much looking forward to settling in and becoming more established here. Full production of our programming goes into effect in just 37 days and it is hard to believe that exactly one month ago today I boarded a train in Portland, Oregon and left on this adventure. I miss everyone and I especially miss being able to spend time with Portia on her birthday. If you are interested in visiting for the upcoming programming here at work be sure to check the "My New Job" in the column on the right side of the page.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PORTIA!!!

A day in the life of a tourist...

So since I still don't know too many people or even really know my way around to well and even if I did I don't have a way of getting there that isn't at least a 2 hour walk or a $10 plus cab ride...I decided to spend my day off this Saturday in Williamsburg as a tourist...something I really hadn't done yet. I had hoped to also return to Jamestown at some point today to be a tourist there as well, however, I didn't make it out of Colonial Williamsburg at all...went on several tours and watched a couple of my new co-workers who are seasoned veterans at work today, I have to say the live actors were far more appealing to me than the costumed tour guides I had today. But since a lot of you have been complaining about wanting to see pictures here are a few I took today, I will do my best to keep my little camera handy and maybe at some point I will get a nice one and take some better quality shots...so here's a little slide show of today's adventure as a tourist. Enjoy!
