What a difference a year makes...

First of all let me wish a Happy Thanksgiving to all! It has been quite the year. This time last year Portia and I were enjoying the company of family just outside Seattle, WA. At the time I was grateful for my family and close friends and God's provision. As it was I was homeless and jobless. I was struggling to find work and a place to live...and then two days before Thanksgiving I was offered an opportunity to fly to Virginia and audition for a job. With the help of my family and some very dear friends I was able to make a flight out on Saturday for a Monday audition. The audition didn't go so well, or so I thought.

Today, I sit in Virginia writing this from that job I auditioned for. And while it is sad to be sitting some 3000 miles away from my loved ones, I am very grateful for all that has happened this year. I am grateful to my family for seeing me through this year. I am grateful for the friends who allowed me the opportunity to crash their Thanksgiving weekend and then were kind enough to pack up some delicious turkey/dinner roll sandwiches for the journey. I miss and love you all.

But what I am most grateful for today is that my father is okay...as some of you know my father was rushed to the ER yesterday...a couple of his co-workers found him having seizures on the floor at his home in Oregon. From what I understand all is well, he is home now, the doctors still don't have a cause or reason for the seizures. Thank you all for your prayers and support.

Hi Stephen!
I love your Blog. Sorry to hear about your dad. Hope everything is okay. I still can't believe that you and Lacey are in the same state! Hope to come and see you one of these days.
Happy belated Thanksgiving!

Thank you! And not only are Lacey and I in the same state but we are less than an hour from one another...I feel kind of bad that I haven't done better to go down and visit yet!
